Chevler cases business sold to former managers
Administrators acting for Chevler Packaging have sold the company's cases division to its former management team.
Newly-formed Chevler Limited will continue to trade the business from the existing site at Hengoed, South Wales.
Administrator Richard Hawes said: "We are delighted to have been able to secure a going concern sale of the cases division to Chevler. This sale will preserve 42 jobs, and also represents best value for the creditors of Chevler Packaging.
"We are grateful to all the staff of Chevler Packaging for their support during the administration process, and we wish them and Chevler every success for the future."
Chevler Packaging, which was reported to have a turnover of more than £14m, called in administrators on 10 February.
Its Bristol-based plastic packaging arm immediately ceased trading with the loss of 38 jobs.
In February 2007, the company closed its cartonboard operations after failing to find a buyer for the business.
Chevler Packaging was established in 1920 as a printer.
