DuPont extends distribution deal with Plantic

DuPont Packaging and Industrial Polymers (P&IP) is to extend its marketing and distribution agreement with Plantic Technologies to include South America.

DuPont already markets and distributes Plantic's ' starch-based sheet materials in North America and Japan.

Shanna Moore, DuPont P&IP global business director for sustainable packaging materials, said: "South America is a very important market for the DuPont Biomax suite of products and DuPont is ideally placed to provide Plantic with market development and distribution in this region.

"The extension of the DuPont P&IP distribution agreement with Plantic into South America complements the North American strategy by providing renewably sourced, functional polymers to our customers throughout all of the Americas."

Plantic's polymer manufacturing technology is based on the use of high-amylose corn starch, a material derived from annual harvesting of specialised non-GM (hybrid) corn.
