Tyne Tees Packaging invests in UK's first Bobst Visioncut

Independent manufacturer of corrugated packaging Tyne Tees Packaging has become the first company in the UK to install a Bobst Visioncut die-cutter.

The County Durham-based company has bought the machine to accommodate increased demand for corrugated products.

It will complement the firm's existing SPO160-Vision Bobst die-cutter.

The Visioncut machine can run litholaminates, microflute and corrugated, up to double wall of 0.75mm to 9mm, at a maximum speed of 4,800 sheets per hour.

The machine's maximum sheet size is 1,100x1,600mm.

Tyne Tees Packaging's managing director Gerard Wiper said that the training and support services offered by Bobst were a big factor in the investment.

"We know that by making the most of the technicians and trainers Bobst provides we will be able to maximise production for the Visioncut," he said.

"That means reducing every makeready to its absolute minimum and running every job at, or very near, full running speed."

Tyne Tees Packaging was established in 1982 and manufactures cartons, point of sale and trays.
