Ultimate designs and makes Christmas potato packs in 48 hours

Ultimate Packaging has designed, printed and manufactured the Christmas packaging for The Very Very Veg Company's Rudolph Potatoes within a 48-hour time period.

The Very Very Veg Company, a subsidiary of Fenmarc Produce, sells the potatoes outside of the festive period, but wanted to play on the associations between the name of the variety and Father Christmas's most famous reindeer.

Ultimate Packaging was commissioned to lead the process from artwork and plate production, to printing and conversion.

The resulting packaging features scenes of snow-covered landscapes and snowflakes printed on the transparent plastic bag. The bag also carries a recipe suggestion.

Jon Kynaston, Fenmarc's projects leader, said: "We have always had an excellent working relationship with Ultimate and they continue to offer an incredibly high level of service and very short lead times when we really come under pressure."

Chris Tonge, Ultimate Packaging's sales and marketing director, said: "With 65% of Ultimate's product currently destined for its fresh produce customers, we pride ourselves on our continued flexibility and ability to respond to the needs of the food industry."
